Finding Solace in Art: Larry’s Plein Air Journey

🎨 What is Plein Air Painting? Plein air painting is a fancy French expression for "painting outdoors." Urban Sketching is essentially plein air painting in an urban environment.

🌳 Larry's Inspiration: Larry began plein air painting during his own cancer experience, discovering it to be a therapeutic and rewarding pastime.

📓 Art and Journaling: Many find painting their surroundings and keeping journals of their outdoor activities brings peace and fulfillment. It’s a wonderful way to connect with nature and capture the beauty around us.

🖌️ Simple and Portable: The beauty of plein air painting is its simplicity! With just a few basic materials that fit snugly in a hip-pack, you can take your art supplies wherever you go.

✈️ Paint Anywhere: Whether traveling or just stepping into your backyard, finding a few minutes to slip away and paint can be incredibly soothing. Your next masterpiece could be waiting right outside your door!

Exciting News! Plein Air Painting Classes with Larry

📅 Coming in September: Larry will be offering classes in plein air painting for Idaho2Fly guests, caregivers, and volunteers.

🏞️ Local Beauty: We will pick beautiful nearby locations, perfect for immersing yourself in nature and creativity.

🎨 Learn and Create: Larry will go over the materials needed and demonstrate the process. Participants will join Larry in sketching and painting in their own sketchbooks.

📝 Stay Tuned: Keep an eye out for supply lists and date/times. We look forward to introducing you to this very enjoyable, therapeutic, and uplifting hobby.
